Clinique 3-Step Review

After an 8 week "trial" of Clinique's 3 Step System, I have officially deemed it not for me, Nor anyone else!

Now, know that Clinique's goal is to match a skin care regimen to fit each skin type. From sensitive skin to oily skin and everything in between. They pride themselves on how they create and have such success with such a product however, I never saw any improvement on my skin from their products. Some people love these products but I think they are too abrasive for any skin type.

I went to a Clinique counter at Dillard's and was so desperate for their advice because I have such acnaic skin. My skin is also very sensitive any any amount of salicylic acid dries out my skin and I end up breaking out even more. Lucky me.

Anyway, when I went to the Clinique counter they had advised that I use the Oily soap, Type 2 clarifying lotion for oily/combination, and the dramatically different gel lotion.
I was pleased to hear that considering my past knowledge of their skin care line, I felt good about it.
It takes anywhere from 28-33 days for your top layer of skin to renew itself to a new layer. For me, it had been about 40 days before I had gone back in. Unfortunately, after that period I had no improvement on any part of my skin. My skin was still breaking out and I had the same amount of oil on my face as before. So, I went back into Clinique determined to return the product and try something else from another company.
When I talked to the advisor about my concerns with the product and how my skin wasn't reacting to the product. They suggested I use the Clarifying Lotion 3 for oily skin.
Two weeks later my skin was soooo dry and flakey. I've used double the amount of moisturizer I should be and I had the same amount of acne on my skin.
This product is harsh and I don't plan on using Clinique's products anymore.

The clarifying lotion has a sort of additive property because it exfoliates your skin daily. If you were to stop using this product only, your skin would start to peel, like mine.
The soap and lotion itself do not have the power to rid skin of acne. Like I said before, Clinique prides itself on the clarifying lotions breakthrough in skin care.

I thought explaining my whole situation would be better than just saying why I don't recommend it. Of course this products work for some but use at your own risk!!

As for me, its back to the drawing board.
